Vihirgaon Project and Dam's Official Designation is "Vihirgaon, D -04999" . Vihirgaon Dam was constructed as part of irrigation projects by Government of Maharashtra in the year 1992 . It is built on and impounds a Local Nallah, nearest city to dam is Pandherkawada in Yavatmal District of Maharashtra . The dam is an Earthfill Gravity Dam . The purpose of the dam is for Irrigation . The length of the dam is 930 m ( 3051.18 Feet ) while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 15.54m ( 50.98 Feet ) . Detailed information about project spillway is not available , observation indicates , Spillway of Other type . Length of the spillway is not known , However , approximate measured length of spillway is 84 m ( 270 Feet ).The Spillway is Ungated . Dam's catchment area is not known.. Maximum / Gross storage capacity is 3.179 MCM . Live storage capacity is 3.027 MCM . Now a days almost all the water bodies make for good picnic spots. Vihirgaon lake is also a popular Tourist attraction for its scenic beauty.

Khemkund Project and Dam's Official Designation is "Khemkund, D -0 4165" . Khemkund Dam was constructed as part of irrigation projects by Government of Maharashtra in the year 2001 . It is built on and impounds a Local Nallah, nearest city to dam is Ralegaon in Yavatmal District of Maharashtra . The dam is an Earthfill Gravity Dam . The purpose of the dam is for Irrigation . The length of the dam is 555 m ( 1820.87 Feet ) while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 17.13 m ( 56.20 Feet ) . Detailed information about project spillway is not available , observation indicates , Spillway of Other type . Length of the spillway is not known , However , approximate measured length of spillway is 47 m ( 153 Feet ).The Spillway is Ungated . Dam's catchment area is not known.. Maximum / Gross storage capacity is 3.73 MCM . Live storage capacity is 3.56 MCM . Now a days almost all the water bodies make for good picnic spots. Khemkund lake is also a popular Tourist attraction for its scenic beauty.

( Munjala spelling is seen only in web site "india-wris.nrsc.gov.in", at all other places the spelling is Munzala, and appers more prevalent ) Munjala Project and Dam's Official Designation is "Munjala , D -0 4221" . Munjala Dam was constructed as part of irrigation projects by Government of Maharashtra in the year 1969 . Dam is situated in Kelapur Taluka and nearest city to dam is Munjala in Yavatmal District of Maharashtra . It is built on and impounds a local Nallah . The dam is an Earthfill Gravity Dam .The length of dam is 665 m ( 2181.76 Feet ) , while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 16 m ( 52.49 F.a proper spillway at all . At least today there are no traces of a proper spillway .  storage capacity is 2.1 MCM. Live storage capacity is 1,98 MCM. Now a days almost all the water bodies make for good picnic spots. Munjala lake is also a popular Tourist attraction for its scenic beauty .

 Karanji Project and Dam's Official Designation is "Karanji , D -0 4221" . Karanji Dam was constructed as part of irrigation projects by Government of Maharashtra in the year 1973 . Dam is situated in Kelapur Taluka and nearest city to dam is Karanji in Yavatmal District of Maharashtra . It is built on and impounds a local Nallah . The dam is an Earthfill Gravity Dam .The length of dam is 512 m ( 156.058 Feet ) , while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 15.6 m ( 51.18 Feet ) . Detailed information about project spillway is not available . The dam does not have a proper spillway at all . At least today there are no traces of a proper spillway

Dudhana Project and Dam's Official Designation is "Dudhana , D -0 3763" . Dudhana Dam was constructed as part of irrigation projects by Government of Maharashtra in the year 1977 . Dam is situated in Yavatmal Taluka and nearest city to dam is Yavatmal in Yavatmal District of Maharashtra . It is built on and impounds a local Nallah. The dam is an Earth-fill Gravity Dam .The length of dam is 310 m ( 1017.06 Feet ) , while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 15 m ( 49.21 Feet ) . Detailed information about project spillway is not available . Project has a Spillway of Other type . Length of the spillway is not known, However , measured length of the spillway is approximately 50 m ( 150 Feet ). The Spillway is Ungated .Dam's catchment area is not known. Maximum / Gross storage capacity is 1.044 MCM. Live storage capacity is 0.74 MCM. Now a days almost all the water bodies make for good picnic spots. Dudhana lake is also a popular Tourist attraction for its scenic beauty .

Chorkund Project and Dam's Official Designation is "Chorkund , D -0 3759" . Chorkund Dam was constructed as part of irrigation projects by Government of Maharashtra in the year 1981 .Dam is situated in Ghantanji Taluka and nearest city to dam is Ghantanji in Yavatmal District of Maharashtra . It is built on and impounds a local Nallah . The dam is an Earth-fill Gravity Dam .The length of dam is 390 m ( 1279.53 Feet ) , while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 12.06 m ( 39.56 Feet ) . Spillway is placed away from the dam site . Detailed information about project spillway is not available However , The dam does not have a proper spillway at all . At least today there are no traces of a proper spillway . Dam's catchment area is not known . Maximum / Gross storage capacity is 1.511 MCM. Live storage capacity is 1.42 MCM. Now a days almost all the water bodies make for good picnic spots. Chorkund lake is also a popular Tourist attraction for its scenic beauty .

Arunawati Project and Dam's Official Designation is "Arunawati , D -0 3008" . Arunawati Dam was constructed as part of irrigation + Hydroelectric project by Government of Maharashtra in the year 1994 . Nearest city to dam is Digras and the Dam is situated in Digras Taluka of Yavatmal District of Maharashtra . It is built on and impounds Arunavati River ,. The dam is an Earth-fill Gravity + Masonry Dam .The length of dam is 5170 m ( 16961.94 Feet ) , while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 29.5 m ( 96.78 Feet ) . Project has a Spillway of Ogee type Length of the spillway is 162 m ( 531.49 Feet ). The Dam Spillway has 11 Radial Type of spillway gates . Dam's catchment area is 89.4 thousand hectors. Maximum / Gross storage capacity is 198.395 MCM. Live storage capacity is 169.675 MCM. Now a days almost all the water bodies make for good picnic spots. Arunawati lake is also a popular Tourist attraction for its scenic beauty .

Nearest city to dam is Pandharkawada and the Dam is situated in Kelapur Taluka of Yavatmal District of Maharashtra . It is built on and impounds Khuni River ,. The dam is an Earth-fill Dam .Purpose of the dam is for irrigation .The length of dam is 1740 m ( 5708.66 Feet ) , while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 23.77 ( 77.98 Feet ) . Detailed information about project spillway is not available . Project has a Spillway of Other type . Length of the spillway is not known . However measured length of the spillway is approximately 253 m ( 765 Feet )........ The Spillway is Ungated..Dam's catchment area is not known . Maximum / Gross storage capacity is 38.511 MCM . Live storage capacity is 27.184 MCM. Now a days almost all the water bodies make for good picnic spots. Saikheda lake is also a popular Tourist attraction for its scenic beauty .

Nearest city to dam is Kelapur and the Dam is situated in Kelapur Taluka of Yavatmal District of Maharashtra . It is built on and impounds a local Nallah . The dam is an Earth-fill Dam .Purpose of the dam is for irrigation .The length of dam is 2086 m ( 6843.83 Feet ) , while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 18.02 m ( 59.12 Feet ) . Detailed information about project spillway is not available . Project has a Spillway of Other type . Length of the spillway is not known . However measured length of the spillway is approximately 85 m ( 280 Feet ). The Spillway is Ungated . Dam's catchment area is not known . Maximum / Gross storage capacity is 9.316 MCM. Nearest city to dam is Maregaon and the Dam is situated in Maregaon Taluka of Yavatmal District of Maharashtra . It is built on and impounds Nirgunda River . The dam is an Earth-fill Gravity Dam .Purpose of the dam is for irrigation .The length of dam is 2740 m ( 8989.50 Feet ) , while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 19.35 m ( 63.48 Feet ) . Project has a Spillway of Ogee. type . Length of the spillway is 190 m ( 623.36 Feet ). The Spillway is Ungated . Dam's catchment area is 9.663 thousand hectors. Maximum / Gross storage capacity is 14.984 MCM. Live storage capacity is 12.475 MCM. Now a days almost all the water bodies make for good picnic spots. Nawargaon lake is also a popular Tourist attraction for its scenic beauty .
