10 Asolamendha Dam
Information about Asolamendha Dam Irrigation Project.
Official Designation of Asolamendha Dam Irrigation Project is " Asolamendha Dam , D - 01003 " . However local and popular name is " Asolamendha Lake / Asolamendha Talav ". Asolamendha Dam was constructed as part of Irrigation Projects by the Britishers during the British Raj in the Year 1918. . It is built on and impounds Pothari River . Nearest city to dam is Shindewadi in Chandrapur District of Maharashtra . The dam is an Earth fill Dam .The Length of dam is 1376.52 m ( 4516.1417 Feet ) , while the Height of the dam above lowest foundation is 18.08 m ( 59.3175 feet ) . Project has other type of spillway .Length of the spillway is 231.6 m ( 2759.8425 Feet ). The Dam has ungated spillway .The Dam's catchment area is 24.553 Thousand Hectors . Maximum / Gross storage capacity is 67.015 MCM. Live storage capacity is 56.375 MCM. Now a days almost all the water bodies make for good picnic spots. Asolamendha Lake is also a popular Tourist attraction for its scenic beauty .Hilly terrain and forest adds to the natural beauty.

11. Erai Dam,
History indicates repeated changes in titles between "Eari" and "Iari" . As per Government web site on Water Resources http://india-wris.nrsc.gov.in. The name of the Project is "ERAI"
Irai Dam, is an earthfill and gravity dam on Irai river near Chandrapur and Tadoba Andhari Tiger Project in state of Maharashtra in India.
The height of the dam above lowest foundation is 30 m (98 ft) while the length is 1,620 m (5,310 ft). The volume content is 985 km3 (236 cu mi) and gross storage capacity is 226,500.00 km3 (54,340.24 cu mi).

Official Designation of Umari Dam Irrigation Project is " Umari Dam , D - 04959 " . However local and popular name is " Umari Lake / Umari Talav ". Umari Dam was constructed as part of irrigation projects by Government of Maharashtra in the year 1997 . It is built on and impounds Umari River , Nearest city to dam is Chandrapur in Chandrapur District of Maharashtra . The dam is an Earth fill Dam .The Length of dam is 1222 m ( 4009.186 Feet ) , while the Height of the dam above lowest foundation is 10.02 m ( 32.8740 feet ) . Project has Ogee type of spillway as such.Length of the spillway is not known. The Dam has ungated spillway.Dam's catchment area is not known . Maximum / Gross storage capacity is 2.7 MCM. Live storage capacity is 2.52 MCM. Amal-Nalla Dam was constructed as part of irrigation projects by Government of Maharashtra in the year 1985. It is built on and impounds Amal nallah River , Nearest city to dam is Rajura in Chandrapur District of Maharashtra . The dam is an Earth fill Dam .The Length of dam is 1607 m ( 5272.31 Feet ) , while the Height of the dam above lowest foundation is 37.75 m ( 123.8517 feet ) . Project has other type of spillway .Length of the spillway is not known. The Dam has ungated spillway. The Dam's catchment area is 8.417 Thousand Hectors. . Official Designation of Tembhurwaltri / Tembhurwahi Dam Irrigation Project is " Tembhurwaltri Dam , D - 04919 " . However local and popular name is " Tembhurwahi Lake / Tembhurwahi Talav ". Tembhurwaltri / Tembhurwahi Dam was constructed as part of irrigation projects by Government of Maharashtra . The year in which Project was completed is not known . It is built on and impounds a Local nallah. Nearest city to dam is Chandrapur in Chandrapur District of Maharashtra . The dam is an Earth fill Dam .The Length of dam is 910 m ( 2985.56 Feet ) , while the Height of the dam above lowest foundation is 11.19 m ( 36.7125 feet ) . Project has no proper spillway as such. The Dam's catchment area is not known . Maximum / Gross storage capacity is 1.24 MCM. Live storage capacity is 0.86 MCM. Now a days almost all the water bodies make for good picnic spots. Tembhurwaltri Lake being too close to the village looses some of its charm .



18.Dongargaon. 20°55'23"N   78°40'55"E

There are Total of six dams with the same name i Maharashtra, Other five are located 1, Near Kinwat in Nanded District, 2,Near Rajura in Chandrapur District , 3,Near Aurangabad in Aurangabad District , 4,Near Yeola in Nashik District, and 5 , Near Mangakwedga in Solapur District,

Dongargaon Irrigation Project, Dam's Official Designation is "Dongargaon D-01325" .Dongargaon Dam was constructed as part of irrigation projects by Government of Maharashtra in the year 1971 . It is built on Nagda Nallah River , nearest city to dam is Wardha in Wardha District of Maharashtra . The dam is an Earth fill Dam .The length of dam is 543 m ( 1781.5 ft ) , while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 16.98 m ( 55.7086 feet ) . Project has a Spillway of other type.Length of the spillway is not known.The Dam has 3 spillway gates. It has catchment area of 2.07 thousand hectors. Maximum / Gross storage capacity is 4.81 MCM. Live storage capacity is 4.41 MCM. Now a days almost all the water bodies make for good picnic spots. Dongargaon Lake is also a popular Tourist attraction for its scenic beauty .
