Project was constructed as part of irrigation projects by the Government of Maharashtra in the year 1997 and impounds a local nallah . Nearest city to dam is Buldana and the Dam is situated in Buldana Taluka of Buldana District of Maharashtra . The dam is earth fill gravity dam. The purpose of the dam and project is Irrigation . The length of the Dam is 1086 m ( 3562.99 Feet ) . while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 13.66 m ( 44.81 Feet ) . Information on Spillway is not available . Spillway length is not known . However measured length of the spillway is 229 m ( 750 Feet ) .Spillway is appears to be of other type and is not gated . Gyanganga Reservoir was created as a result of construction of Gyanganga Dam of Gyanganga Irrigation Project . Official Designation of the The Project is " Gyanganga D - 01244" . Locally this is also known as " Gyanganga Talav " or " Gyanganga Lake" . Gyanganga Project was constructed as part of irrigation projects by the Government of Maharashtra in the year 1971 and impounds Gyanganga ( Dhyanganga ) River. Nearest city to dam is Khamgaon and the Dam is situated in Khamgaon Taluka of Buldana District of Maharashtra . The dam is earth fill gravity dam. The purpose of the dam and project is Irrigation . The length of the Dam is 639 m ( 2096.46 Feet ) . while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 35.73 m ( 117.22 Feet ) . Project Spillway length is 120 m ( 393.70 Feet ) . Spillway is of other type and is not gated. Catchment area of Gyanganga Reservoir is 20 Thousand Hectors. Maximum / Gross storage capacity of Gyanganga Reservoir is 37.27 MCM. Nearest city to dam is Zari and the Dam is situated in Buldana Taluka of Buldana District of Maharashtra . The dam is earth fill gravity dam. The purpose of the dam and project is Irrigation . The length of the Dam is 721 m ( 2365.49 Feet ) . while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 14.12 m ( 46.32 Feet ) . Information on Spillway is not available . Locally this is also known as " Dahid. Talav " or " Dahid. Lake" . Project was constructed as part of irrigation projects by the Government of Maharashtra ln the year 1978 and impounds a local nallah . Nearest city to dam is Buldana and the Dam is situated in Buldana Taluka of Buldana District of Maharashtra . The dam is earth fill gravity dam. The purpose of the dam and project is Irrigation . The length of the Dam is 716 m ( 2349.08 Feet ) . while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 12.78 m ( 41.92 Feet ) . Information on Spillway is not available . Locally this is also known as " Pimpri Talav " or " Pimpri. Lake" . Project was constructed as part of irrigation projects by the Government of Maharashtra in the year 1997 and impounds River Bondal Nalla . Nearest city to dam is Khamgaon and the Dam is situated in Buldana Taluka of Buldana District of Maharashtra . The dam is earth fill gravity dam. The purpose of the dam and project is Irrigation . The length of the Dam is 610 m ( 2001.31 Feet ) . while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 18.08 m ( 59.31 Feet ) . Information on Spillway is not available . Project was constructed as part of irrigation projects by the Government of Maharashtra in the year 1994 and impounds Bordi River . Nearest city to dam is Khamgaon and the Dam is situated in Buldana Taluka of Buldana District of Maharashtra . The dam is earth fill gravity dam. The purpose of the dam and project is Irrigation . The dam is divided in two portions by the Spillway. The measured length of The portion on the left side ( West ) of the spillway is 356 m ( 1167.98 Feet ) + The portion on the Right ( East ) side of the spillway is 754 m ( 2473.75 Feet ) . The Total length of the Dam , including the Spillway is 1265 m ( 4150.26 Feet ) . while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 14,8 m ( 48 55 Feet ) .

This Reservoir is located near two villages namely , Dhamangaon Deshmukh and Kothali . Official and Government web site and records have named this Dam Feature as " Dhamangaon Deshmukh Dam.". However name " Kothali is more popular and widely used . Here Kothali will be used.
Kothali Reservoir was created as a result of construction of Kothali Dam of Dhamangaon Deshmukh irrigation Project . Official Designation of the The Project is " Dhamangaon Deshmukh D - 04593" . Locally this is also known as " Kothali Talav " or " Kothali Lake" . Project was constructed as part of irrigation projects by the Government of Maharashtra in the year 1980 and impounds a local nallah . Nearest city to dam is Buldana and the Dam is situated in Buldana Taluka of Buldana District of Maharashtra . The dam is earth fill gravity dam. The purpose of the dam and project is Irrigation . The length of the Dam is 1284 m ( 4212.59 Feet ) . while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 14.7 m ( 48.22 Feet ) . Information on Spillway is not available . There are four dams with the name Takli .1.near Khamgaon in Buldhana District .2. near Yavatmal in Yavatmal District. 3. near Chandur Rly in Amravati
District . 4. near Kultabad in Aurangabad District .
Takali Reservoir was created as a result of construction of Takali Dam of Takali irrigation Project . Official Designation of the The Project is " Takali D - 04887" . Locally this is also known as " Takali Talav " or " Takali Lake" . Project was constructed as part of irrigation projects by the Government of Maharashtra in the year 1970 and impounds a Local Nallah . Nearest city to dam is Khamgaon and the Dam is situated in Buldana Taluka of Buldana District of Maharashtra . The dam is earth fill gravity dam. The purpose of the dam and project is Irrigation . The length of the Dam is 1161 m ( 3809.05 Feet ) . while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 12.77 m ( 41.98 Feet ) . Information on Spillway is not available . Length of the spillway is not known . At least whatever is left of what was once a Spillway , is in a very bad condition being eroded and washed away and only traces of spillway and canal exists . Catchment area of Takali Reservoir is not known. Maximum / Gross storage capacity of Takali Reservoir is 1.12 MCM . Live storage capacity is 0.87 MCM.
