Morhal Reservoir was created as a result of construction of Morhal Dam of Morhal irrigation Project . Official Designation of the The Project is " Morhal D - 04375" . Locally this is also known as " Morhal Talav " or " Morhal Lake" . Project was constructed as part of irrigation projects by the Government of Maharashtra in the year 1974 and impounds a Local Nallah . Nearest city to dam is Barshi Takali and the Dam is situated in Barshi Takli taluka of Akola District of Maharashtra . The Dam is an Earth-fill Gravity Dam . Purpose of the Project is for irrigation . Length of the dam is 690 m ( 2264 Feet ) . while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 12.13 m ( 40 Feet ) . Information on Spillways is not available . Spillway length is not known . However measured length of the southern spillway is 32 m ( 106 Feet ) . Measured length of the Northern spillway is 45 m ( 147 Feet ) Spillways are now in damaged condition , but appears to be of other types and are not gated. Catchment area of Morhal Reservoir is not known . Maximum / Gross storage capacity of Morhal Reservoir is 1.06 MCM . Live storage capacity is 0.96 MCM . Now a days almost all the water bodies make for good picnic spots Morhal Reservoir / lake is also a popular Tourist attraction for its scenic beauty .

Nearest city to dam is Barshi Takali and the Dam is situated in Barshi Takli taluka of Akola District of Maharashtra . The Dam is an Earth-fill Gravity Dam . Purpose of the Project is for irrigation . Length of the dam is 660 m ( 2165 Feet ) . while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 12.36 m ( 44.5 Feet ) . Project was constructed as part of irrigation projects by the Government of Maharashtra in the year 1990 and impounds a Local Nallah . Nearest city to dam is Washim and the Dam is situated in Barshi Takli taluka of Akola District of Maharashtra . The Dam is an Earth-fill Gravity Dam . Purpose of the Project is for irrigation . Length of the dam is 730 m ( 2395 Feet ) . while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 30.26 m ( 99 Feet ) . Information on Spillways is not available . Spillway length is not known . However measured length of the spillway is 84 m ( 275 Feet ) . Spillways are now in damaged condition , but appears to be of other types and are not gated. Katepurna Reservoir was created as a result of construction of Katepurna Dam of Katepurna irrigation Project . Official Designation of the The Project is " Katepurna D - 01237" . Locally this is also known as " Katepurna Talav " or "Katepurna Lake" . Project was constructed as part of irrigation projects by the Government of Maharashtra in the year 1974 and impounds Katepurna River . Nearest city to dam is Barshi takli and the Dam is situated in Barshi Takli taluka of Akola District of Maharashtra . The Dam is an Earth-fill Gravity Dam . Purpose of the Project is for irrigation , Drinking / Water Supply . The dam is divided in two portions by the Spillway. The measured length of portion Left ( Western Side ) of the spillway is 880 m ( 2887 Feet ) + measured length of the Right portion ( Eastern Side ) of the spillway is 925 m ( 3035 Feet ) . The spillway length is 145 m ( 476 Feet ) . The Total length of the Dam , including the Spillway is 2000 m ( 6567 Feet ) . while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 29.5 m ( 97 Feet ) . 
Spillways is of Ogee types and Has Ten Radial Type of Spillway Gates.. Catchment area of Katepurna Reservoir is 50.816 Thousand Hectors. . Maximum / Gross storage capacity of Katepurna Reservoir is 96.67 MCM. . Live storage capacity is 86.35 MCM. Now a days almost all the water bodies make for good picnic spots Katepurna Reservoir / lake is also a popular Tourist attraction for its scenic beauty .

Nearest city to dam is Barshi takli and the Dam is situated in Barshi Takli taluka of Akola District of Maharashtra . The Dam is an Earth-fill Gravity Dam . Purpose of the Project is for irrigation . The length of the Dam is 555 m ( 1821 Feet ) . while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 13.45 m ( 44 Feet ) . Information on Spillway is not available . Spillway length is not known . However measured length of the spillway is 96 m ( 315 Feet ) .Spillway type not known but appears to be not gated. Catchment area of Hatola Reservoir is not known . Maximum / Gross storage capacity of Hatola Reservoir is 2.53 MCM. . Live storage capacity is 1.63 MCM. Now a days almost all the water bodies make for good picnic spots Hatola Reservoir / lake is also a popular Tourist attraction for its scenic beauty .

Januna Reservoir was created as a result of construction of Januna Dam of Januna irrigation Project . Official Designation of the The Project is " Januna D - 04004" . Locally this is also known as " Januna Talav " or "Hatola Januna" . Project was constructed as part of irrigation projects by the Government of Maharashtra in the year 1978 and impounds a Local nallah . Nearest city to dam is Barshi takli and the Dam is situated in Barshi Takli taluka of Akola District of Maharashtra . The Dam is an Earth-fill Gravity Dam . Purpose of the Project is for irrigation . The length of the Dam is 390 m ( 1280 Feet ) . while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 11.95 m ( 39 Feet ) .Information on Spillway is not available . Length of the spillway is not known . At least whatever is left of what was once a Spillway , is in a very bad condition being eroded and partly washed away and only spillway canal exists . Catchment area of Januna Reservoir is not known . Maximum / Gross storage capacity of Januna Reservoir is 11.31 MCM. . Live storage capacity as is given is 1.18 MCM . However this figure is suspect . There is generally never so much difference between Gross and Live Storage. Now a days almost all the water bodies make for good picnic spots . Januna Reservoir / lake is also a popular Tourist attraction for its scenic beauty .

The length of the Dam is 450 m ( 1476 Feet ) . while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 15 m ( 49 Feet ) .Information on Spillway is not available . Length of the spillway is not known . At least whatever is left of what was once a Spillway , is in a very bad condition being eroded and partly washed away and only spillway canal exists . The length of the Dam is 311 m ( 1020 Feet ) . while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 21.22 m ( 70 Feet ) . Information on Spillway is not available . Spillway length is not known . However measured length of the spillway is 69 m ( 227 Feet ) .Spillway is now in damaged condition , but appears to be of other type and is not gated . Official designation for this Dam and Irrigation Project as given in National Register for Large Dams is "MH 09 MH 1410 Locally this is also known as " Vishwamitri Talav " or "Vishwamitri Lake" . Project was constructed as part of irrigation projects by the Government of Maharashtra in the year 1996 and impounds Vishwamitri River. Nearest city to dam is Patur and the Dam is situated in Patur taluka of Akola District of Maharashtra . The Dam is an Earth-fill Gravity Dam . Purpose of the Project is for irrigation . The length of the Dam is 1,275 m (4,183 Feet ). . while the height of the dam above lowest foundation is 21.06 m ( 69 Feet ) . Information on Spillway is not available .
