Morning Walk Vignettes - Public works in "Andher Nagri".
Lot of infrastructure work if being done in Nagpur for the last few years. Aim being to make Nagpur a smart city.
During my morning walk I see the work which is going on and which to all intent and purposes having been completed. Sights of lots of completed work makes me sad at the waste of public money, way slipshod work as passed all inspections and declared completed.
Such sites reminds me of a story about "Andher Nagri which had a choupat Raja". Officials in whose raj were also 'choupat."
Apparently they :
did not use common sense, were not accountable to anyone for any thing, did not believe in work ethics or insist on quality execution of work etc .
A pictures is supposed to be equal to 1000 words. These photos. one of newly constructed footpath on Ambazari-Hingna road, others of various junction boxes of electricity board near jaitala sunday market site and the valve opening HOLE can be seen anywhere.
Will concerned authorities take remedial actions?
With this type of work execution Nagpur, rather than becoming Smart City will be doomed to remain andher nagari.
