New Trend ??

14 July 2010 .
Went to attend wedding of Surabhi , Third and the youngest daughter of Kavita and Wg Cdr K B Purohit(retd) at Naivedyam Hall.

The hall has some fond memories for us as Anuj and Puja had also got married at the same hall.

The hall has been renovated since and looked good . All the arrangements by "Anna"( that is waht I call KBP) were good and bore the stamp of "service planning" :-). Lot of things were same / similar to those being done/seen in present day weddings, Flower decorated "b" grade car , Flower and lighting decorations . All the , well almost all , boys in ehtnic , sherwaniwith lot of embroidery & pajama and with long chunni like scarfs . The girls in heavily worked lehanga kurta etc . However there was one thing not generally seen in other weddings. There was a protrait of wedding couple . It was a fine portrait and very well executed , did have very good likelihood & resemblance to the couple . Here it is reproduced. :-

Well if it was like any normal protrait made from "rangoli" or coloured powder may be I would not have mentioned it in the blog . I considered it worth putting up on the blog because it was not made from "rangoli" or coloured powder. It was made from food grains like rice , wheat etc and naturally differing coloured pulses like urad , masoor , tuar etc and spices and condiments . An innovative idea what :-) It was quite popular and drew fair bit of crowd .

May be This will set a new trend and we will see more and more of protraits made from ......
