Returning after a looooong looooong gap .
Read our Foreign Minister SM Krishna's remarks published in news papers of 8 Sept 09 and just could not help myself from reacting . So , dashed off a letter to Editors of The Hitavada and , India Today .

Letter is already published in the paper . Happy to see that this time the Editor was kind enough to publish the contents as they were written . So here is what I had written :-

Sir ,

The statement by Foreign Minister SM Krishna that action of Chinese Army in case of border violation by entering up to 1.7 KMs and spray painting in red colour words " CHINA " as "There is no issue on that. There is no problem on that " , is most shocking to say the least .

Due its firm and principled foreign policy during the Nehru era of non -alignment, India was respected and had a very high standing in the comity of world of nations . Even during the days of Indira Gandhi , she had , in-spite of all her faults , managed the foreign affairs extremely well . Due to the deft handling , she had managed to gain world sympathy about the problem of millions of refugees from erstwhile East Pakistan.This enabled us to liberate Bangladesh without inviting adverse reaction from other world nations .

It is sad state of affairs that since those days , India's foreign policy has steadily gone down hill . It has become ( The foreign policy ) spineless and totally non assertive . De-linking of terrorism with resumption of talks with Pakistan was the most recent example of this spinelessness , totally non assertiveness and bending over backwards to accommodate opponents point of view. After the latest Chinese intrusion, the least people of India expected was Chinese Ambassador being called to South Block and asked for an apology and explanation in sternest of terms . However the comments of our Foreign Minister indicates that our spinelessness has reached the lowest point ever . India has lost the respect of world community it once had .

I suggest that if this sort of behaviour is considered "There is no issue on that. There is no problem on that " by our Foreign Minister and the Government of India , they should authorise Indian Army to intrude 1.7 KMs in Chinese territory , paint "INDIA" in saffron colour on all the boulders they can find and watch for the reaction of Chinese Government . See if they also feel and consider such an action on the part of Indian Army as "There is no issue on that. There is no problem on that "
